New technology--specifically, computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing tools, computer-based information systems--represents one major strategic option for increasing organizational effectiveness. But for organizations to reap full benefits from the technology they introduce, it must be fully utilized. This is where training--any mechanism that contributes to acquisition of skills, knowledge and behavior--comes in.
