Abstract or Description

Our review of Mitchell's paper "The Effects of Social, Task, and Situational Factors on Motivation, Performance, and Appraisal" is divided into three sections. First, we give a brief representation of the concepts and theory in order to facilitate our analysis of Mitchell's work. Second we identify and discuss the critical issues in the Mitchell paper. Last, we delineate our position concerning some of the major research issues on the relationship of social, task, and situational factors to performance.
