Journal of Privacy and Confidentiality (Journals)
Welcome to the Journal of Privacy and Confidentiality.
Issue 4/2/2012 is now available!
March 5, 2013: Somini Sengupta of The New York Times discusses the contribution by Stutzman, Gross, and Acquisti:Silent Listeners: The Evolution of Privacy and Disclosure on Facebook.
Study: Facebook Users More Protective Even As They Reveal More About Themselves.
This issue explores the issues and consequences of society’s recent dependence on social networks, and the privacy implications therein. In addition to articles by Fienberg; Hall, Rinaldo, and Wasserman; Lin and Wise; and Stutzman, Gross, and Acquisti; we reproduce a White House Report that signals a concerted effort by the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government to ensure privacy protections of consumers engaged online through commerce in our increasingly digital economy. What follows is an explanation of the Consumer Bill of Rights, described as a blueprint for privacy in the information age.
We welcome responses to this issue’s articles, as well as submissions that further explore the topics discussed in this issue. More information can be found in the Submission Guidelines link on the homepage, or by contacting kbokalde@stat.cmu.edu.
As always, we are accepting submissions for future issues. See Submission Guidelines for more details regarding formatting and content.
