This Special Issue was guest edited by Marco Gaboardi of the University at Buffalo and Chris J. Skinner of the London School of Economics. It includes papers from the first international workshop on "Theory and Practice of Differential Privacy" (TPDP) held in London, UK in April 2015. More information on each of the papers is found in their introduction to this Special Issue.
I'd like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the passing of our Editor-in-Chief, Stephen Fienberg. Steve was a giant in this field like no other. Let us go forth and fill the void he has left with knowledge and new discoveries—it is what he would have wanted. Here at Carnegie Mellon we will be working to publish one last regular issue.
