Abstract

We have built a global digital library with the help of over 150 library partners. Currently we are scanning over 1,000 titles per day in 5 countries. This fast paced paper/presentation will show our path and vision for access and use, lending strategies, funding strategies, collection development methodologies, success case studies and our vision for the library of the future.

Comments

The format of this presentation is a balance of power point slides and URL links to show demonstrations of the aforementioned topics. I have headed up the Global Digital Operations at the Internet Archive since 2005. We have had the honor of working with many great institutions (Library of Alexandria, Library of Congress, Harvard and many institutions both large and small. We feel that every item we have digitized has value to a user somewhere; be it a researcher, a scholar, a teacher, a student or a casual viewer in search of knowledge.
