The broad and varying regulatory or causative roles of guanine (G)-quadruplexes in both biological processes and some human diseases incentivize the development of ligands able to recognize these structures and modulate their effects. These reagents might find use either as therapeutics or, more broadly, as discovery probes to elucidate both the existence and functional implications of quadruplex structures in the genome.
