Abstract or Description

Increasing the pervasiveness of vegetated surfaces in urban areas has significant value for the aesthetic and environmental improvement of our cities. Roadways, parking lots, and building roofs offer the most significant untapped areas for urban landscaping. This report will focus on the opportunities and choices presented by landscaped or green roofs in general, with a summary of life cycle implications focused on the opportunities specific to the US Capitol Complex and the Dirksen Building.
